Going Viral：韓國晨間劇的高潮是泡菜摑和橙汁男？！
What makes you watch Korean dramas? The cheesy plot? Hot actors? Chic style? Well, answers may vary, but the popular Korean dramas you’ve probably heard of or most likely watched usually have all three of them, and air twice per week on prime time for dramas which is 10 p.m., straight after prime time news. However, not all dramas air on prime time, and there are morning dramas that air five days a week before working hours, normally at 8 a.m. Though morning dramas don’t usually get a lot of spotlight, there are some scenes from them that fueled a slew of creative memes, starting with the kimchi slap.
你是因為甚麼原因看韓劇？是為了看那俗氣的情節嗎？是為了看那些帥氣的Oppa嗎？還是為了看韓國女星的時尚？每個人的答案都不同，但你所看的韓國偶像劇通常都包含以上三點，並且每週兩次在新聞後的黃金時間（晚上十點起）中播放。不過，不是所有韓劇都在黃金時間播放的。韓國人早上會看晨間劇打發交通時間，這些晨間劇一星期播放五次，每天早上八點開始播放。雖然韓國晨間劇未及黃金時間的韓劇般為華人所熟悉，但有不少晨間劇的戲劇性場景都被網民改圖瘋傳，最經典的要算是《全都是泡菜》的泡菜摑了。
The Kimchi Slap
Last year, an unprecedented kimchi slap aired from MBC’s morning show Everybody Kimchi! on its September 11 episode, breaking the Korean internet with memes. The cast still talks about the kimchi slap scene on talk shows; that’s how legendary it is. The viral clip features the actress slapping the suited up co-star in Korea’s signature kimchi, swinging a pickled whole kimchi cabbage at his face and neck, leaving red stains over the white dress shirt and even the furniture behind. Wondering why she did that? Obviously, she was mad at him in the scene.
去年9月11日，MBC電視台播放了第11集晨間劇《全都是泡菜》，為觀眾帶來前所未有的視角震撼──泡菜摑。直到今天，演員們都在清談節目中討論這個經典場景──女演員將泡菜揮向男演員的頸和臉，男演員的白襯衣，甚至後面的家具全都染上了紅色醃料。想知道為甚麼女演員會這樣做？看她的樣子擺明是十分氣憤吧。

In this clip, the actor, commonly referred to as ‘The Juice Man’ now, spits out orange juice after hearing a surprising news that he has a daughter who had been living under foster parents. Perfectly timed, perfectly angled. Good job, the juice man!
