I start my research on shapes and textiles; I take photos, look at art books, and magazines then start to sketch my pieces. But I am also very much influenced by the environment around me: people and nature.
Africa is always the starting point with all my visual journeys. I love everything about Africa. There’s something special here. Life for most Africans is so hard – most of them struggle. They push to do something better.
I would consider my work both an art and a craft. I like to define my creations as wearable art as I do not simply create accessories, my designs are an embodiment of a unique creative process, cross-travel, inspired strengths and cultural diversity.
