【短片】專訪Street Artist Caratoes：塗出街頭優雅
The misconception about graffiti artists and street artists is that [they’re] people who look dirty, look like they haven’t washed themselves, all the girls looking manly or whatever… I don’t like stereotyping, so that’s why whenever I paint, I do want to look as elegant as I can be even though my clothes will get splattered.
來自街頭的故事，應該走到街頭裏去聽。這天，HOKK fabrica與她相約在太平山街，一條位於上環世外桃源「PoHo區」的主要街道。她，外表超酷、爽朗、有性格。長長的 ombré hair刻意撥到右邊，露出左邊的剷青，並隱約看到左耳後的菱形紋身。這種不對稱和不規律，好像在告訴我們她的我行我素。她，就是Caratoes，一位本地street artist／muralist。
Caratoes長於比利時，父母是香港人，大約一年半前踏足香港開展尋根之旅。「鬼妹仔」的性格，華人的外表，相信在多元文化中成長所經歷過的衝突和碰撞，都成為了她創作的養分。無論是塗鴉或是壁畫，細緻的筆觸，複雜的線條，勾畫出幽暗、脆弱、不安、自傲、感性、平靜與沈鬱；筆下的女性人物（有時還會出現寵物貓），彷彿反映畫家複雜的內心世界。
