2018年，鼓手Joe Seaward發生了嚴重車禍，當時樂迷們不知道Glass Animals的未來會有什麼改變。但是，不到兩年後，他們帶著新專輯《Dreamland》回來了。成軍於2010年, 英國迷幻搖滾樂團Glass Animals由4位兒時玩伴──主唱兼制作人Dave Bayley, 吉他兼鍵盤手Drew MacFarlane,貝斯兼鍵盤手Edmund Irwin-Singer和鼓手Joe Seaward組成。在這一回13 Things的欄目，一起聽聽主音Dave，說說13件他希望在開始這個樂隊之前就知道的事情。

Trust your own gut instinct,

不 再 在 舞 台 上 扔 菠 蘿

I wish I knew not to throw pineapples off the stage because I used to do that, I have hurt a lot of people, I’ve broken fingers and I’ve hit someone on their face once and it’s really bad. I am not gonna do that anymore.

我希望我早知道不應該在舞台上扔菠蘿下去，因為我曾經那樣做，很多人受傷了，像我斷了手指，曾經打中一個人的臉，很糟糕。我不會再這樣做了。

I wish I knew how to sleep on a tour bus because I still can’t do it. But bring ear plugs, it’s all like shaking all the time, it’s impossible to fall asleep.

我希望我早知道如何在巡演巴士上睡覺，我仍然做不到。不過戴上耳塞，因為巴士會一直搖晃，根本不可能入睡。

怎 樣 有 技 巧 地 唱 歌

I wish I knew how to sing properly. When I started the band, I definitely didn’t know how to sing and like warm up my voice and stuff and I kept losing my voice. Sometimes, when I am on stage and I just have to be like I can’t sing, bye and cut the show short.

我希望我早知道要怎樣有技巧地唱歌。一開始，我根本不知道如何正確地唱歌或像是熱身和發聲這些技巧，然後我一直都在失聲。有時候，我在舞台上，我真的唱不了，只能縮短演出時間。

How to play Ninja. No.4, that will be no.4. It’s a really good game for being on tour. One, two, three, Ninja. and then you like take turns. Really fun game.

如何玩忍者。巡演時，這個遊戲真的很好。一，二，三，忍者。然後你要輪流，真的很有趣。

巡 演 餐 單

What to put on the Rider’s menu. Cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, not too much booze, that’s the main thing. Healthy things.

How to collaborate with people because that’s a great way to learn about how to make music. Just to learn from other people and collaborate.

Trust your own gut instinct, especially if you are making music. I think that gut instinct is really important.

享 受 現 場 表 演

How to enjoy playing live I think is very important. The first couple of the shows that we did, I was just trying to play everything like really perfectly and standing really still. Makes a terrible show. Have fun, have a tequila. Doesn’t matter if it’s all perfect or not.

如何享受現場表演非常重要。在我們最早的幾場演出中，我只是嘗試把所有事情做得完美，而且是筆直的站著。這樣演出很無趣。玩得開心，喝點龍舌蘭酒。表演完美與否無關緊要。

How to be open when writing songs – I think it’s really important. The first couple of albums that we did were very like about other people. I didn’t wanna write about myself. I think it’s more important to write about yourself because you can get to something more personal, more sensitive.

How to hide from our bassist-guitarist, Edmund, he’s in a crazy mood. Once he smashed a cucumber over my back and sometimes he does soundtrack just lying on his back.

How to draw a line at the front of the stage in neon tape so you don’t fall off the front, break your leg, like i did.

如何用霓虹膠帶在舞台的前方黏一條線，以免跌倒，摔斷腿，像我一樣。

不 需 要 高 檔 設 備

And finally you don’t need all the fancy equipment in the world. You can just use a computer. I made the first EP on like an old Hand-Me-Down computer that didn’t even work if it wasn’t plugged into the wall.

最後，您不需要用到這世界上所有的高檔設備。您可以就用一部電腦，我就是用一台舊電腦製作了第一張EP，那台電腦如果沒有插電是無法使用的。
