她的音樂、MV、衣著、台風，甚至是一整個人，都散發著一種神秘而獨特的氣場，給人一種難以捉摸的感覺。有人認為她的音樂「太重口味」，無法明白她那種「藝術」，但筆者正正就是被 FKA twigs 的另類、怪誕與前衛所吸引。

FKA twigs 音樂的「怪」

只要你隨便聽任何一首FKA twigs的音樂，你就會明白為甚麼她的音樂並不是每個人的那杯茶。聽慣流行音樂的人會容易對FKA twigs 那種氣若游絲的唱腔、捉不到的旋律，以及各種複雜的電子聲效感到陌生。Wikipedia 將 FKA twigs 的音樂界定為「Trip hop（ 神遊舞曲）」、「實驗性」、「另類R&B」和「電子」，但FKA twigs 自己曾說過很難將她的音樂分類，因為她的音樂集合了不同音樂風格的元素。

今年27歲的FKA twigs其實十年前已經開始做音樂，活躍於地下音樂和舞蹈舞台。2012年推出第一張 EP，同年接受《i-D》雜誌邀請做訪問，將她從地下的舞台介紹給主流觀眾認識，2014年漸漸憑著其前衛的MV冒起，今年更獲得「YouTube Music Awards」，成為50名最佳藝人和YouTube演出之一。

FKA twigs的音樂與其MV有著密不可分割的關係。看她的MV，你不會找到陳腔濫調的愛情劇情，她總愛透過抽象的視覺效果和肢體語言豐富她的藝術表達。可能是這個原因，主流觀眾對於她MV中所使用的大膽意象會感到不安，不少人更因為「看不明白」她的藝術，而直斥FKA twigs的「音樂」根本不是音樂。

With my profile growing, enters into a world of people who don’t understand me, and they are never going to understand me and I don’t expect them to understand me. And I don’t want them to understand me. And that’s also okay. And it’s quite exciting as well to have it spread into a place where it shouldn’t really go and it feels nice. I quite enjoy it.

你大概不會想到，FKA twigs小時候是接受古典音樂和芭蕾舞訓練的，這正正給了她一個紮實的基礎發展其興趣──電子音樂和Throw-shaping。所謂Throw-shaping，就是隨著流行曲（FKA twigs的情況就是電子音樂）跳舞。FKA twigs跳舞時關節經常發出聲響，所以小時候的朋友都稱呼她為「twigs」，而 FKA就是「Formally known as」的意思，與另一樂隊The Twigs撞名後被迫加上去的。

FKA twigs有趣的地方，就是她YouTube上的subscribers很少，但她的很多個MV都擁有過百萬的點擊率。

為了能夠一絲不苟地表達自己腦海裡所要表達的東西，FKA twigs會擔當自己音樂和MV 的Producer。除了希望為每首音樂拍MV之外，她亦時不時會與不同品牌和單位合作，就像實驗性短片《FKA twigs #throughglass》，她就是跟Google Glass合作了，將科技產品融入她的藝術表達中。

FKA twigs 外貌的「怪」

FKA twigs其中一處令人吸睛的東西，就是她的外貌和造型。FKA twigs喜愛在頭髮上花心思，特別是劉海的部分，亦喜愛佩戴大量金屬首飾，其「Baby Hair劉海」和鼻環彷彿成為了她的標誌。最經典的造型要算是她在額上用頭髮弄了一個Love字，凸顯了她的獨特個性。

擁有英國、牙買加和西班牙血統的FKA twigs小時候在白人群體成長時經常被人取笑，但她似乎看透了一個人其實永遠無辦法控制別人想甚麼、做甚麼和說甚麼，所以她亦繼續專注做自己，做自己的藝術。

People said horrible things about something I had no control of, which was tough. But that’s okay. Life isn’t supposed to be easy, is it? I never really saw anything wrong with how I looked, it was more that certain people pointed things out to you about yourself. Either your hair’s different, or the colour of your skin, or your features. Half of my life I’ve had people staring at me because they think I’m funny-looking and ugly. The other half of my life I’ve had people staring at me because they think I’m fascinating. Everything neutralises. It’s more of a statement on society and how weird it is.

「接受不到」、「不懂欣賞」、「怪」等等或許是眾人對FKA twigs的普遍評價，望著她和她的作品，你可能會覺得不舒服，因為她好像不屬於任何既定的分類。有人將她與同樣愛實驗音樂的冰島歌手Bjork比較，稱她為「新一代Bjork」，而最近亦有人乾脆以「Robert Pattinson女友」來稱呼她。但筆者不願這樣標籤她，因為 FKA twigs就是FKA twigs，而音樂世界正正是需要像FKA twigs這樣的藝術家出現，為音樂和藝術帶來跟多可能性和討論。也許真正吸引筆者的，並不單單是 FKA twigs的另類、怪誕和前衛，而是她那種敢於不同，敢於活出真我的勇氣和不羈。

不要稱她為「Robert Pattinson女友」了，她，是FKA twigs。
