LET’S EAT ART – BIBO

Bringing fine-dining to the next level and serving you appetizing art pretty much sums of the hottest joint in town – Bibo. For anyone who enjoys contemporary art and is no stranger to names such as Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koons, Daniel Arsham, Banksy and more, you will find yourself in ‘la-la land’. Taking fine-dining to a street level, Bibo defines the short form of ‘bilingual bohemian’ and it definitely reflects itself as a passion project for a French bohemian lifestyle inspired restaurant.

It’s hard to actually define Bibo as a restaurant or merely just a space for expensive street art collection and investment which happens to serve amazing French food. With all the buzz and hype it has been secretly brewing for the past few months (if you happen to be one of the many who had been spotting Invader art at random places around the city), the food undoubtedly was one of the curiosity to be undiscovered (fearing the art would overshadow the main purpose of a restaurant). Truth is Bibo is in fact wheeled by executive chef Mutaro Balde who was previously at Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athenee Paris and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon in London. Meanwhile its 1930’s era inspired cocktail menu is designed by renowned mixologist Alexandre Chatté.

As if Bibo is not already cool enough, to celebrate the week of Art Basel, the restaurant has also gathered some of the coolest DJs to spin for Art Basel week which includes Kavinsky, Wookid, Sebastien Tellier, Kaytranada, Zimmer, Kartell, Cezaire and Amy Becker.

Last but not least, with Bibo bringing together a unique relationship between culinary and art, it is almost a sin to not actually list out every single artist being housed in the restaurant (really just to reiterate how much this is a street-art fanatic’s dream come true) and here we go – Banksy, Daniel Arsham, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Shepard Fairey, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, King of Kowloon, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami and installations by Ella & Pitr, Invader, JonOne, JR, Kaws, Mr Brainwash, Mist, MadC and Stohead.

We can almost quote this fantasy space the art version of ‘Let them eat cake’ when there is no bread, but of course in this case it should be ‘Let them eat art’!
